Wyeth and Feihe's milk powder formula change approved

On May 21, the official website of the State Food and Drug Administration announced a new batch of milk powder formula change lists, including three formulas from Wyeth Aierle and Toddler Le, and two series of six formulas from Feihe's Feifan and Zhenai Feifan. A total of nine milk powder formula change applications were approved.

 

　　Since 2018, many brands that have taken the lead in formula registration have submitted formula change applications, but the State Food and Drug Administration has not clearly disclosed which aspects of the announced milk powder formula have been changed. According to the requirements of the State Food and Drug Administration, there are obvious differences before and after the product formula change, changes in the nutritional content table, changes in the production address caused by the relocation of enterprises, and changes in the type of production process. Only when there are significant differences before and after the product formula change need to re-apply for product formula registration.

 

　　It is understood that the new policy on milk powder, which was implemented on October 1, 2016, is known as the strictest registration system for infant formula milk powder in history. Since 2018, if infant formula milk powder is to be sold in the Chinese market, it must obtain a product registration certificate, and those who do not register will be ordered to withdraw from the market. At the same time, in order to better meet the individual needs of different consumers and optimize the product structure, many milk powder companies, including Wyeth and Feihe, are making formula changes to the registered products.

 

　　Statistics show that up to now, the State Food and Drug Administration has approved 162 factories, 421 series, and 1253 formula registration applications. Among them, 3 factories and 5 series of Wyeth have registered formulas; 4 factories and 12 series of Feihe have passed formula registration.
